We encourage you to bring non-perishable food, or gently used winter clothing, children’s books or new warm socks to donate! And remember to bring your own water bottle to use during the afternoon!
Every year, Cambridge residents raise their hands to lead a drive. Girls scout trips, research labs, law firms, church communities groups of friends—from all ages and backgrounds, they collect food, clothing and books for the city’s service agencies. For some, it is has been an MLK Day tradition going back over a decade. It is an incredible gift to the city and it makes a big difference for those who are struggling.

Here’s the situation: one in three Massachusetts residents struggles with hunger. This includes our neighbors right here in Cambridge who might not have access to sufficient food, or food of an adequate quality.
Sitting at the confluence of four streets, the church site, on the ancestral home of the Massachuset people, has witnessed neighborhood growth from a sleepy agricultural area to a bustling industrial and commercial center.
What do people who are experiencing food insecurity or are unhoused really need? Organizations, food pantries and area community centers would like you to know their “wish list” for donations to bring when volunteering on MLK DAY.
