WHO WE ARE

A program of First Parish in Cambridge, the mission of the Tuesday Meals Program is to offer warm hospitality and an evening meal in a safe, dignified environment to anyone in need of nourishment.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We have volunteer opportunities available throughout the day every Tuesday. To view openings and sign up for any of the opportunities please visit us on the web at tuesdaymeals.org/volunteerProduce Pickup (10:00 am – 11:30 am)Every Tuesday morning we pick up the fresh produce and other food donations that will be transformed into the day’s meal from two locations in Cambridge. If you have a car and an hour and a half of free time, we would love to have your help as a driver.Morning Food Prep (11:00 am – 1:00 pm)Morning food prep volunteers make the soups and salads that we serve each week, prepare sandwiches for our guests to take with them when they go, chop up the vegetables that will be used in the main dish, and bag cookies or other donated treats.Mid-Afternoon Setup (3:00 pm – 5:00 pm)Whether making coffee, setting tables, helping to put together the evening meal, or writing out the menu, there are a range of preparations that go into a successful meal service. In this shift there is truly a job for anyone!Dinner Service (5:15 pm – 7:30 pm)Dinner service volunteers help plate our meal, serve and seat our guests, and clean up when the evening is over. This is both our fastest paced and most popular service opportunity.
