Our mission is to cultivate an engaged community of youth whose powerful artistic voices transform their lives, their neighborhoods, and their worlds.

The Community Art Center achieves our mission through intensive, year-round activities for youth ages 5-19 and through youth-led Community Programming that engages local and national audiences in quality artistic experiences.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Interested in volunteering in one of our programs? Please email us and provide as much information as possible about you and your group, including:

• Individuals

  • Name, Age, and Location

  • What type of work you are most interested in: School Age After School, Teen Media Program, Summer Camp, Community Programs, Special Events, Administrative, Fundraising, Facilities, or other support. Learn more about our programs here, or come on a tour to learn more if you aren’t sure!

  • When you are available to volunteer- could be specific dates, or particular days of the week, including times, and for how long.

  • Relevant experience and passion for our work that you think we should know about.

• Groups

  • The demographics of your group: age range, ability range, and where you’re coming from​

  • How long and on what date you are available.

  • What you’re willing to do! Painting? Cleaning? etc.

  • Lead contact information for your group.

Please allow 1-2 weeks for someone to respond to your inquiry.

Some information to keep in mind:

​

• Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm. Summer hours: 8am-6pm. We do not take volunteers on weekends.

• If you are interested in working directly with young people, we request a time commitment of at least 2 months. Background checks are mandatory.

• We do not create custom projects for volunteers, but we do like to utilize your diverse sets of skills!
