CASPAR is a nonprofit organization founded in 1970 in response to the need for community-based services for those affected by substance use disorders. Since then CASPAR has built a comprehensive array of outreach, shelter, stabilization, residential, aftercare, education, and prevention services. We focus on programs that are safe, accessible, and supportive and that meet the needs of a diverse population of high-risk men, women, children and adolescents, most of whom are uninsured and indigent. CASPAR is part of Bay Cove Human Services. In Cambridge, CASPAR operates the Emergency Service Center on Albany Street which provides shelter, hot meals, showers and laundry for more than 100 homeless men and women every day and night of the year and FIRST STEP Outreach, a team that goes throughout the community to aid unsheltered homeless men and women who are affected by substance abuse, mental illness and medical complications associated with life on the streets.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
CASPAR relies upon the support we receive from donations and volunteers. We are helped out by individuals, corporations, and foundations. Donations, gifts in-kind and volunteered time all contribute to helping CASPAR operate, enriching our community and helping the individuals who benefit from our program and services.
