3 Things for our Planet- Earth Day & EveryDay

Reset your commitment to protecting your family, our neighbors & the planet-

Our children are counting on us!

Climate solutions and living a lifestyle that reflects our values about climate action can be fraught. How do we get it right? What information do we trust about what is being done on a daily basis to help in our community?  How can we make choices when we are consumers dodging a wave of plastic wherever we turn?  Is carrying our water-bottle and recyling enough?

Experts all agree that if we adopt these 3 practices, it will reduce the harmful emissions that are bad for our health and are threatening our future.

Take action with these 3 scientifically proven winners for a better planet:

Eat Less Meat

Mitigate Food Waste

Commit to using public transportation, cycling or walking

Even changing it up and skipping meat one day a week can help lower harmful greenhouse gas emissions, and conserves water.  Find the facts from Stanford University on meat’s environmental impact HERE

Eating a plant-based meal is easier than you think if you have some guidance from chefs. Simple tips will help you create a delicious dish for your family.

Food waste is a big problem that most people don’t even think about. Food waste ends up in landfills, becoming methane gas, and contributes to 8-10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. According to Scientific America, 30-40% of food intended for consumption is not eaten.

It is tricky as a consumer to think about this when we are at the grocery store. From buying to storing and composting, HERE are some fabulous tips from The United Nations Environmental Program to help you keep food waste at bay.

We can’t always take public transportation. Sometimes it is inconvenient and often in some places it is just not an option. The Center for Energy and Climate Solutions has some tips on how you can choose cleaner options including biking, walking and choosing the most efficient vehicle (turns out even how you drive helps!) while hopefully taking public transportation when you can. Find info and tips HERE
