Pentecostal Tabernacle Church South

56 Magazine Street, Cambridge

Created in 1927 by Barbadian immigrants, Pentecostal Tabernacle Church (PT) is a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural church, with a sister church (PT – North) at 77 Columbia St. It strives to “make the Church one of the friendliest places in Cambridge” with a logo that includes the word “welcome” in a number of different languages and various nations’ flags hang from its walls.

PT’s Senior Pastor, Bishop Greene, has been
a member of PT since childhood. He is deeply committed to continuing the mission of the church and developing outreach through programs for children, the homeless, those
facing food insecurity, and interfaith community partnerships. Under his leadership PT has become a pillar in the community as a house of prayer.

PT Church helped start, and has been a consistent partner in, the Gift Cards for Guns program that happens annually in the summer. The program offers grocery gift cards in exchange for any type of gun, no questions asked. The program has been running in Cambridge for 8 years and will happen again this year on the second Saturday of June.
