Many people. Many needs. Many Helping Hands.

Many Helping Hands is a group of Cambridge residents and volunteers coming together to help fellow residents in need.

We came together to host the 1st annual Martin Luther King Day of Service event in Cambridge in 2011 to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to honor the legacy of Martin Luther King through personal volunteerism. In 2015, at the 5th Annual Cambridge MLK Day of Service in Central Square, more than 2,000 people came to spend the afternoon volunteering to help more than 7000 people in need in our community, connecting through more than 69 non-profits and agencies.

Many Helping Hands hopes to encourage local year round volunteering through the creation and distribution of its Volunteering in Cambridge Guide and its local volunteering website www.manyhelpinghands365.org.

In 2015, Many Helping Hands helped organize and run Gift Cards for Guns: A Safer Homes, Safer Community Initiative, an interfaith, non-profit and Cambridge initiative to provide Cambridge residents with an opportunity to anonymously and safely dispose of unwanted guns in their homes, reducing the potential for injury or death.
