The Cambridge Homes offers gracious independent and assisted living in an historic Georgian-style brick building next to Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, MA. They serve seniors in the Cambridge area.
Residents enjoy a relaxed ambiance, stimulating social and cultural programs, and top quality services. They lead independent lives yet enjoy the advantages of living in a caring community where everyone’s voice is heard. The Board of Directors is committed to using a portion of its endowment fund for financial scholarships to help defray costs for Cambridge residents with limited means.
The Cambridge Homes has a rich tradition of service to the community. The not-for-profit organization was established by a group of Cambridge citizens (including Alice Longfellow, the poet’s daughter) over 100 years ago. Its charitable mission continues to be carried out today by an active nine-member Board of Directors and 50 Incorporators from Cambridge.
How To Volunteer
Volunteers from the Cambridge area serve on the Friends’ Committee sponsoring a variety of in-house programs and acting as medical escorts for residents, driving them to and providing companionship during physician visits.
