Community Charter School of Cambridge (CCSC) is a public, tuition-free, college preparatory charter school located near Kendall Square.
Founded in 2005, CCSC serves approximately 360 students in grades 6 through 12. CCSC engages each student in meaningful work inside the school and in the larger community through required internships and rich academic experiences. All CCSC students are well prepared to succeed in college and gain the confidence and skills to be leaders in their communities.
How You Can Help:
Tutoring: Volunteer tutors are needed for our after school homework help program, and can sign up for one or two sessions a week. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 until 5:00.
Internships: All 12th graders are required to perform a 100-hour internship in a company or non-profit, both to get experience in the work place (and all its demands), to make a useful contribution, and to gain some insight into the variety of professions. If you can help with a work site placement, please contact CCSC. Internships take place every Wednesday during the second semester (late January through May).
