The 5th MLK Day of Service event is starting to take shape! Join us for an afternoon of hands-on service projects! Make fleece scarves and blankets for homeless children and adults. Make Valentines for elders and veterans. Sort food, winter clothing, books and toiletries for people in need and more!
￼Don’t come empty handed! Bring a can of food, gently used winter clothing or a children’s book for someone in need.

Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup
Volunteer for the 15th Annual Charles River Cleanup and make a difference this Earth Day!
In a collaboration led by CRWA, over 4,000 volunteers will work together to remove litter and debris from the Charles River and beautify its surrounding parklands in one of the nation’s largest one-day river cleanup events! Volunteers will remove trash from sites throughout the Charles River watershed from Milford to Boston.

Two thousand three hundred people with “helping hands” made a difference to hundreds of people in need at this year’s MHH MLK Day of Service. Everything given, sorted, and made was donated to people helped by over 72 non-profits, agencies and organizations in Cambridge, Somerville and Boston.

2544 Valentine’s Day cards for homebound Cambridge elders, veterans, servicemen and women overseas, and wounded veterans
1530 Activity kits for children waiting in Emergency Rooms
1654 Bookmarks for adults and children in Cambridge literacy and ESL programs
We sorted and donated:

74 Bags of donated food for 12 Cambridge food pantries
54 Bags of donated children’s books
2950 Bags of donated toiletries
